To give us a taste of the real-world process of motion design, this project tasked us with creating an informational motion video about the purpose and function of the U.S. Census. The script was developed by a faculty member in the Political Science department at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. We were given an official creative brief, script, and voiceover to work off of, so our animation and content needed to match the script and pacing. I aimed for my explainer to be informative and direct, especially when illustrating the more complex aspects of the census, but still energetic and fun to watch. I chose a complimentary color palette, and used a square motif to unify the style and transitions.
